Gian Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors is an uplifting, inspirational opera of two children joined by faith on the eve of the Nativity. A poor mother and her disabled son, Amahl, who has a penchant for tall tales, open their humble home to the Three Kings on their westward, star-guided quest. What begins as a respite on the road to Bethlehem becomes a journey of learning, love and healing.
Performances are fully staged, highlighting the debuts of two young singers as Amahl, with the Boheme Opera NJ Orchestra and Chorus, and featuring a ballet segment.
