When I help clients consciously create a life they love, it always starts with self-care.
The act of hiring a coach is in itself an act of self-care.
Often people think they don't have time to take care of themselves or that taking a day to restore their spirit is somehow selfish.
Self-Care is not an option. It is necessary to live a full, abundant and happy life.
Scientifically, self-care engages our parasympathetic nervous system, helps us disengage from the sympathetic, the fight, flight, or freeze mode.
Why do we want to engage our rest and digestive mode?
Because it is when we are relaxed, calm, and centered that we are truly powerful.
The sympathetic is great when we are in mortal danger. But most of the time it kicks in when we aren't. When we are just sad or upset. But even when upset, we can still be calm. Take action from a powerful state of mind, not a suffering state.
Self-Care. It's not only not selfish, but it is necessary to be at our best for others. For our partners, our employees, our children, our community.
Need some self-care? Try a yoga restorative class, yoga nidra, a forest bath, savoring delicious food, and just going outside! All of these are different types of self-care.
And they are all part of our Winter Day Retreat! If you are in the NY-NJ-PA area, check it out. A full day of going inward and restoring your spirit so you can return to family and friends with a sense of renewal!
