In Pure Barre Classic, we occasionally work the base of the seat in a position that requires you to lie flat on the front side of your body. However, it's important to avoid putting direct pressure on your growing uterus and baby during pregnancy. Rather than working in a lying position with 1 tube around your ankles, you can consider the following options: 1) come to all 4's and extend the working leg behind you; 2) work in a Kneeling position facing the barre and curl the heel to your seat, or 3) work in an upright posture. All of these options still effectively strengthen the base of the seat, the hamstrings, and the deeper core muscles, in a way that's safe for you during pregnancy.
